LETTER TO PARENTS
All children, ages 5 to 18 years-old, must be registered by a parent or guardian to participated in the summer program, no exceptions. We must have a valid telephone number to reach a parent/guardian in case of emergency. When you register you child, we will determine if the child has a library card with current information, if not, an application will be filled out for membership; the child's corrected information or new information will be entered into our database, a picture will be taken of your child and then we will place the barcode of the membership and the picture of the child on a plastic Library card. Your child must have their membership card with them to use the Library.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Each child will be allowed to check out up to 4 hardback books at one time

Game computers can be used on a first come, first serve basis. If people are waiting to play on the game computers, time is limited to 30 minutes per child.

Members with overdue materials or fines cannot checkout or take advantage of library privileges.

In order to use computers with Internet-access, a child must have this indicated on the registration form.
BEHAVIOR WHILE IN THE LIBRARY

No food or drinks can be brought into the library.

Children who cause a disturbance will be warned once; in the event this kind of behavior continues, they will be asked to leave.

Library phones can be used to call parents/guardians/care providers - it is not for personal use and the staff will not accept personal phone calls for patrons.

There are places that are off limits to patrons, especially children. Signs will be posted - we will not tolerate violations to these limits.

Children are not allowed behind the front check-out desk.

Staff is not responsible for the coming and going of children, that is the responsibility of parents. Children that are here at closing time, 5:30 P.M., will be handed over to the Hearne Police Dept.

Any activities that take place outside of the library, parents will be notified well in advance so that the parent may choose to have their child not participate in that activity
