We consider it an honor to serve the people of Robertson County and surrounding areas.  You do not have to be a resident of Robertson County to become a member of the Library.  We welcome all who wish to utilize our facility

We are open 5 days a week - Monday-Friday.  Our hours of operation are:

                8:30 A.M. - 5:30 P.M.

To get a library card, you must have some form of ID (driver license, or ID card) and, if you are under 18, parental consent.  This means that a parent must accompany their child to the Library in order to obtain a library card for the child under 18.  Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult when visiting the library.

Adult books are checked out for a period of 4 weeks; juvenile books are checked out for a period of 2 weeks.  The due date is never a day we are closed.  All overdue books will be charged a fine of 10 cents per day, which will include days we are closed since the book(s) is already overdue.  You may renew books over the telephone, as long as they are not overdue, by calling us at: 979-279-5191

The City of Hearne provides most of our operating budget, including staff payroll, operating supplies,Internet service for patrons, building maintenance and funds for purchase of books, etc.; we receive a Collection Development grant from the State of Texas via Central Texas Library System; and County Commissioners award us a grant from Robertson County to be used for any purpose which benefits the public.

We also have several fund-raisers per year to provide additional money for special activities, such as our Summer Reading Program and funds to purchase items we feel will be of service to our patrons.

Our Library is automated and the card catalog is an on-line database.  The bulk of our book funds are spent on current best-seller hardcover fiction, which is what the majority of our patrons demand.  Our juvenile section is also kept up to date with new releases.  Smith-Welch has a large selection of paperbacks, from Westerns to Romance, which mainly have been donated to us by patrons

We happily accept book and magazine donations provided we have room for them.  In fact, we would take every single book and magazine offered since we are wild about books and reading materials but, due to our limited space, we must select carefully.

Through Central Texas Library System, of which we are a member,  we can access the TexShare Databases and also Interlibrary Loan services.

Other services provided by the Library include: 10 public computers with Internet-access (no charge to patron), copies (black) from copy machine, computer printer, black and color, faxing services, laminating, photo scanning and printing, and various graphic services.   Prices vary for each service required.  Inquire about other services you might have need of and we will see if we can help you.

We have the capability of designing and printing business cards and posters for your business notices. The cost for 100 business cards, including creating the graphics, and printed in color on business card stock is $15.00.
